Cherokee Turban
$135.00
Historically dated to the 1790’s the Cherokee Turban is said to have originated from our tribal ambassadors visiting a king in 1760. Having multiple head tattoos visible in the royal court the Turban was shared to our people to hide what was deemed to be “unsightly” in the presence of royalty.
Depicted in drawings of our Cherokee people by the 1790’s it was here to stay. Today it now represents our Cherokee adaptability and is still the favored headwear worn by many of our tribe.
The red porky roach (piece that attaches to the back of this) is NOT included with your purchase. This listing is for the turban alone.
I make these to order, contrary to popular belief one size does NOT fit all. These need to be made to your head size.
Please put your exact head size in inches in the comment box NOT your hat size.
If you do not have a fabric measure, simply take a piece of string, floss whatever you can find put it around your head and then stretch it out next to a ruler and there you have it!
All turbans are made with a black cotton backing so they are not itchy. If you would like to provide your own fabric to have one made please contact me so we can try to work something out. Otherwise please select one of the colored fabrics offered.
If you need assistance with how to wear this, a link to a video will be sent after purchase.
Your item comes with a certificate of authenticity stating my enrollment information and tribal information. This is Native American made.
Dry clean only
